Every AMRC net runs on the W4BOC repeater — 146.760− MHz with a 107.2 Hz PL tone. Check in from your radio, or join from anywhere in the world via Echolink to W4BOC-R.
The club's flagship weekly check-in. Club announcements, swap-and-shop, and a round-table for anyone on frequency. New and newly licensed operators are especially welcome.
A late-night, informal ragchew net. No agenda, no hurry — pull up a chair and talk radio, weather, or whatever's on the bench.
A relaxed weekday lunch-hour net. Drop in for as long as your lunch break lasts — no formal check-in list, just good company.
Nobody is born knowing net procedure. Here is the whole thing in four steps — and if you get it wrong, nothing bad happens. Everyone on frequency has been there.
Tune to 146.760 MHz with a −0.6 MHz offset and a 107.2 Hz PL tone. Listen for a minute or two — the net control station (NCS) will call for check-ins.
When the NCS asks for new or additional check-ins, key up and give your call sign clearly, phonetically if conditions are rough. Then release and wait.
The NCS will come back to you by name and call. That's your turn — pass your comments, ask your question, or simply say you're listening.
Nets run on courtesy. Leave a gap between transmissions so stations with emergency or time-sensitive traffic can break in.
The Sunday and Turnip Truck nets run on volunteer net control stations, and the sign-up sheets are usually thinner than we’d like. Running net control is the fastest way to get comfortable on the air — the preamble is written for you, and there is always somebody listening who will help.

Both scripted nets have a written preamble. Print it, keep it on the desk, and read it straight through — that is genuinely all net control requires for the first few minutes.
