HAM AUTO TAGS - for 2006
I am not sure how pertinent the following information is,
but I do know this about Georgia Amateur Radio Tags.
Make a Xerox Photo Copy of your Amateur Radio License and take it with you to the Tag Office,
along with your Proof of Insurance,
Proof of Emissions Inspection (for Metro Atlanta residents), and your Drivers License. Don't forget your Water Bill or something like
that to show your proof of Residency for that County. Without the items listed, they might send you away without a tag and that
might cost you late fees and penalties. If you are mailing your tag in, send in the copy of your Amateur Radio License even
if they don't ask for it.
The County offices of the Department of Motor
Vehicles seem to have different information about your HAM Tag and how to order
it each year since 2004. Every County has 4 or 5 different stories on how to place
your order using the State Form MV-9X.
The Original Story is that you
must place your order before July 31, otherwise you will receive a Standard
Tag and then have to wait the 90 days for your new HAM Tag to arrive, all while
driving on a Back Window Paper Tag. Please Check with your Local Tag
office and take them a copy of your MV-9X form filled out with a photocopy of
your FCC License before the July 31, Deadline. If they tell you you have to
wait until later in the year, please ask for a supervisor to confirm that, then
write down their name and date it on the back of your MV-9X form. If there
are problems at a later date, you can then have the name of the person who gave
you the wrong information, and have them correct the problem.

If You do not have a
copy of Adobe Acrobat Reader, needed to read PDF format files.
